Named after the cheap and popular yet deadly sweet iced tea-type beverage that haunts the corner stores and bodegas of Philly’s poorer neighborhoods, ARCTIC SPLASH aims for the same things: To be cheap, popular and deadly sweet. Featuring the songs and vocals of Joey Sweeney (The Trouble With Sweeney, Barnabys, etc.), the group takes influence and guidance from The Ramones, The Rolling Stones, Patti Smith and Pulp. To date, Sweeney has suffered the following injuries sustained at Arctic Splash shows: Broken tooth, whiskey poured in eye, numerous slaps and low-grade sexual assaults, and possibly broken middle toe. The group is finishing up their debut album now.
